Classrooms at MKG
This post is to explain what occurred at MKG and dispel any rumors in regard to the extent of the damage sustained over the weekend. As a result of Nemo, we lost electricity and heat at MKG. Middleborough Gas and Electric worked diligently to restore power to the schools. When it came back on, 5 univents in classrooms had issues as water had frozen in the pipes. Fortunately, it was caught quickly on Sunday evening and the cleanup process began. The univents were repaired on Monday and damaged tiles were removed. Teachers in those rooms lost a few books and classroom rugs were deemed unusable. The school is back in good shape and ready for students to return.
The Mignosa Family
One of our families lost everything in a house fire this weekend. I did speak to Mrs. Mignosa today and assured her son at MKG will be supported. He is a great young man and always has a smile on his face. We want to sustain his upbeat personality.
She was so appreciative of the outpouring of support from the Middleborough community. We will put together an effort to collect items such as gift cards for this family. More information will be sent out soon. I have spoken to Mrs. Medeiros, who has volunteered to spearhead the effort at MKG.
Looking forward to seeing students back in our hallways tomorrow!
